Mentor Tay Kheng Soon

Tay Kheng Soon, born in 1940, is a practicing architect and former adjunct professor at National University of Singapore Architecture School. He was president of the Singapore Institute of Architects from 1990-1993 and founding member and chairman of SPUR (Singapore Planning and Urban Research) from 1970 to 1971. He graduated from the School of Architecture (present Singapore Polytechnic) in 1964 and is currently undertaking fundamental design research about Rubanisation. He is a public intellectual who held many visionary views on the built environment and urban design.


Mentor Ong Mark Denis Tan

Mark is Director for P&T Consultants Pte Ltd, a 150-year old, award-winning and multi-disciplinary planning, architecture and engineering consultancy operating in over 70 cities around the world, including Singapore. He has been involved in a broad range of projects that are diverse both in scale and typology: from master planning, to the architectural design of mixed-use and residential developments both for the private and public sectors. Apart from his work in Singapore, he has also done projects in Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and India.
Apart from his work at P&T, he has also given talks and workshops both in Singapore and abroad on topics such as Housing, Urbanism and Designing for Productivity. Linkedin



Mentor Chen Hong 陈红

Chen Hong, Executive Director of Master Planning and Urban Design division of RSP, brings more than 30 years of expertise in master planning, urban design, and architectural design.

She believes in planning and design that respects both nature and culture while creating long-term value for the whole community. With her experience across many large-scale projects in different parts of Asian countries, she brings fresh perspectives and designs that encapsulate the needs of the users and ecosystem while emphasizing the fundamentals of Singapore's planning philosophy and experience.

Previously part of the Hangzhou Qianjiang New CBD Construction & Management Committee of China, she jointly oversaw all planning and urban design work in Hangzhou CBD with a strong focus on planning research and urban design implementation of the vertical pedestrian system to create vibrant public spaces.

Chen Hong is an active advocator on sharing better planning and urban design value with audience from government, developers to academia and the general public, and also on the jury panel for a few major international competitions in China and Russia.

Chen Hong is a Full Member of the Singapore Institute of Planners, and also a National Registered Architect and Urban Planner of China. She holds a degree of Master of Arts in Urban Design in the School of Design & Environment from the National University of Singapore and has been a visiting scholar in urban planning at the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA.
